Shady Oaks wind farm is located in Lee county, Illinois, between the towns of Compton and Mendota and a bit southwest of Interstate 39 Exit 82. Commissioned in 2012, it is situated immediately north of the previously constructed GSG wind farm. Shady Oaks consists of 71 wind turbines, 68 Goldwind GW82 1.5MW units and 3 (probably the northernmost 3) Goldwind GW100 2.5MW units, with a combined nominal capacity of 109.5 MW.
