The monument on the Zandvoorderhoek at Nijemirdum was established in memory of five citizens who were shot here on April 6, 1945 by the occupying.
The five victims are:
Durk Dijkstra, Hendrik Huizenga, Jurjen Hoomans, Gerrit Vlietstra and Herre Winia Jr.
