Central Florida's Premier Rowing Club for Masters
The Orlando Rowing Club is a group of men and women 21 years of age or older (mostly over 30 ... and more) that get together each week in the early morning or late afternoon under the supervision of an experienced coach to learn to row or improve our rowing skills. We call this practice and we do a lot of it to prepare for Regattas (that's boat talk for racing against other boats in our same age category). Most of the regattas we attend are called "Head Races", they are called "head races" because we try and stay ahead of everyone else! just kidding .. but true! A Head Race is 5,000 meters or about 3 miles. From start to finish, it takes anywhere from 18 to 25 minutes to complete. The lower the time, the more likely we are to win.
Being a competitive bunch, we try and enter as many regattas as we can to show our stuff and mostly have fun!
We believe rowing is the best sport .. Why? It's low impact, yet highly aerobic and uses darn near every muscle in your body. There isn't a better workout to be had anywhere than rowing for 20, 40 .. minutes or more. So, if you want to be in the best shape of your life and have fun doing it, sign-up for one of our Masters Programs for beginners that run 3 to 4 times a year. If you are experienced, we can use you today. Drop us an email. We want to hear from you.
We hope you will consider rowing and thanks again for visiting the Orlando Rowing Club.
