The monument to the Zilverstraat reminds the inhabitants of Franeker of five young fellow who died during the occupation by war.
The names of the five victims are:

Machiel van Bachum, Pieter de Boer, Hedzer Jacobi, Anne Dirk Schaafsma and Douwe Zondervan.
