This home was named after Annie Cheyney, who had the home built in 1905. It was designed by Holmes & Holmes, and restored in 2001. Typical of the affluent "Snob Hollow" residences on Main Avenue at the turn of the twentieth century, this Mission Revival house has a living room bay window projecting from the two-story facade facing the Santa Cruz River and Tucson Mountains. The interior walls were originally painted with landscape scenes and the wooden floors with designs resembling rugs. In 1981, the roof structure was destroyed by fire, and the building was abandoned. To prevent its demolition, two El Presidio residents purchased the house and resold it to the new owners, who restored it to its original elegance. Source: A Guide to Tucson Architecture
