Unincorporated community of farms. First whites settled here in 1745 and the town developed around the settlement. Named for the large pumpkins that grew in the nearby Oolenoy Valley. Most of area within several miles of Highway 8 and Highway 288 crossroads are considered a part of this community. An annual pumpkin festival is held in October.
