The courthouse was erected in 1641as a mining facility. The mining official who weighed and calculated ore had his office here. After an expansion and renovation in 1893, the building served as a courthouse with a courtroom that still has its attractive
ornamentation. Today it contains the Kopparberg Tourist Office.
