One of the largest public squares in Europe, the Place Bellecouris is at the historic centre of Lyon. In the centre stands an equestrian statue of King Louis XIV designed in 1825 by François-Frédéric Lemot. There are also two pavilions, a tourist information office and access to the Metro station below.
