Paektu-san (백두산/白頭山) in Korean Chángbái-shān (長白山) in Chinese.

Baekdu Mountain is split between Antu County of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in northeast China and North Korea in the south. The highest point of the peak, a spot to the southeast of the crater and lake, is in Korea. As a dormant volcano, Baekdu Mountain boasts rare animals, a marvelous lake, amazing hot springs, and forests. The most beautiful part of Baekdu Mountain is undoubtedly Chonji, or Heavenly Lake. The lake was formed in the crater of Baekdu Mountain, and it is the source of the Songhua River. The border rivers, the Tumen and Yalu, originate on its northeast and southeast slopes respectively. Baekdu Mountain is viewed as a symbolic holy place by Manchu, Korean and Han nationalities.
