Welby Station is a transit oriented development located in the City of Thornton at 88th Ave. and Welby Road. It is located adjacent to the future site of the Welby Road station of The North Metro Corridor which is "an 18-mile commuter rail line that extends from Denver Union Station in Downtown Denver north to 160th Avenue (SH7). The commuter rail line generally follows the railroad right-of-way to the east of I-25. FasTracks also includes right-of-way preservation for future transit and the addition of new park-n-Rides at 136th and I-25, and at Bromley Lane on I-76. The expanded park-n-Rides complement any future extension of the I-25 Bus/HOV lanes and proposed Bus/HOV lanes along I-76. Both of these Bus/HOV projects are assumed to be the responsibility of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)." (RTD 2007 www.rtd-denver.com/fastracks/north_metro_corridor.html)...

The development itself is a projet by NewTown Builders (www.newtownbuilders.com) and is a mixed use, medium density project which incorporates a wide range of housing choices and commercial opportunities.
