  I am so curious about Darch Island..who owns it? How did it get its name? Is it a cottagers island? When was it established? It looks beautiful..I would love any info you have.Thanks fyrballtwo@yahoo.ca

  I discovered a cutting when I was researching Thomas Darch which states "PP King named Darch Island on 13 April 1818 after his esteemed friend, Thomas Darch of the Admiralty". Thomas was the First Clerk of the Naval Works Department from 1796 - 1832. Let me know if you have found out anything more.

  I think you are referring to Darch Island in Australia, while the Island of question in this case is located in Ontario, Canada.
