The Virginia Key Mountain Bike Trail is a great example of a partnership between the Parks and Recreation Department and residents who have a passion for a sport and the willingness to develop a plan, motivate volunteers and make a vision come true.
Located on the north end of Virginia Key, the mountain trail was built by hand through volunteers from the Virginia Key Bike Club (VKBC) with resources provided by the City of Miami. The trails have been built to allow all levels of bicyclists access to the opportunity to be surrounded by nature and water (Biscayne Bay) in the heart of Miami while getting the thrills of mountain biking.
