Dedicated to the Holly Trinity, the church stands in the village of Gornji Matejevac, 7 km from Niš, on the hill Metoch. It was built during the reign of Byzantine emperor Manuel I Comnenus (1143-1180) and rebuilt in early fifteenth century. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. Because the Dubrovnik merchants, people named by the locals "Latin" used it in the 16th century, the church was named also ”Latin”.
