Barra Polle a.k.a., Koot Polle is one of the largest west flowing rivers originating for Kodagu district. She was controversial river a few years back, due to the proposed hydral power project. She still survives the blunt of the “developmental” activities, thanks to the brave fight put up by the local people of Kodagu district.
A very fast flowing river, she offers some breath taking sight on her way through the wet evergreen forests of Western Ghats. Sarath Abbi a water fall on her course is one such virgin area preserved from the onslaught of human greediness.
