It's one of the most peaceful Italian towns, situated between Potenza river and Chienti river. It's a place with a beautiful landscape: in the west you can see the Appennine Mountains and in the east you can see the Adriatic Sea, this place is accessible in a few minutes.
The principal attraction of Macerata is the "Sferisterio", an outdoor theater where you can see the Opera in the summer season.
