Pouso Da Cajaíba is one of the last preserverd fishing villages in the state of Rio de Janeiro. It's name comes from the fact that it's the first safe spot for those who enter the bay from the south, and boats usually make a stop there to take a night's rest from the open sea (Pouso means landing in portuguese. It still has no electric power by wire, it's one of Rio's finest diving spots and has a distinctive golden sand actually composed of rice sized crystals instead of fine grains.
