Garfield docks C and D was the former home of the Peavey grain elevators, that were torn down around the last turn of the century. Fairly dormant, the docks have been used as a laydown area, to store windmill power equipment that in transit through the port. Currently the pier is undergoing upgrades for better handling of more type of cargos. This includes among other things includes road improvements, returning rail access and reinforcing the dock walls. It is projected to be open in the Fall of 2016.
