The Oak Grove Gas Plant was built on a mountaintop in the southernmost county of the panhandle of West Virginia; Marshall County. The de-ethanizer plant is located just southeast of Moundsville, WV. Extensive logistics were required to move the massive de-ethanizer towers by special tractor trailer oversize loads up the narrow twisting roads leading to the Oak Grove site. Movement of each tower required several days with extensive pre-planning due to the mountainous terrain with narrow roads.

The processed ethane, from Marcellus Shale and Utica Shale wet gas produced in the vicinity, will be transported via pipeline to ethane crackers away from the Oak Grove plant for use in making plastics and other products.
