  • Nicknamed "EMB" by skateboarders. Famous former skateboarding "Mecca" popular in the late 80s to mid 90s featured in many skateboard videos before the city demolished various ledges and concrete structures. Skaters from around the world would travel to EMB just to skate there. Brick surface of the plaza gave a very distinctive "click-clacking" sound given off by skateboard wheels. Some famous skateboarders that frequented EMB: Mike Carroll and brother Greg Mark Gonzales - "The Gonz Gap" was named after him after he was the first to ollie the very large gap that also featured a big drop.
