This hostel originally was belonging to Bheemaguttu family. The iconic figure of Bheemaguttu house Late Nanjappa Shetty, who was a lawyer during the british times donated this land for the students hostel. His house is less than a km from this hostel. His Descendent runs the Hotel Prakash and Vijaya Bar and Restaurant in Karkala.
