Notes: One of this home's first owners was Elizabeth Renoe, the widow of a weather observer. Upon purchasing the property, she established a Weather Bureau office out of the house, and set up weather observation equipment on the property. She resigned her position with the Bureau upon her marriage to Senator Henry F. Ashurst (see above) but the equipment continued to operate on the property for some time thereafter. Thus, this property holds significance in political and scientific spheres, in addition to its architectural merit.
