District of Cobano Municipal Council (Cóbano)

The City Council District Cóbano was created on March 20, 1986, his appointment was published in the Gazette of April 18, Executive Order No. 16934-G, thus becoming the 5th Municipal District Council of the country. Currently it is covered with No. 8173. Cóbano Act, is the No. 11 district central canton of Puntarenas. It has an area of 316.61 km2, surpassing extension 42 of the 81 cantons. According to the last census conducted in 2011 Cóbano has 7,494 inhabitants, of whom 3,869 are men and 3,625 are women.
