  • I'm sorry but I have to inform everyone that the people working in this are all crooks. For foreigners going here, make sure that you have someone who can speak Khmer talk to the people here or else you'll get scammed by those working here. Here's my story, I was trying to send a post mail to Phonm Penh for a friend. I already have a 2200 Riel ($.60 USD) stamp attached. When I asked one of those manning the place, he told me that I still need to pay 6000 Riel ($1.50 USD) because there I need to send the mail via air mail. According to him there are no 'regular' service. After sensing that he was trying to scam me, I asked our tuk-tuk driver to talk to the person inside. Without much discussion, the mail was accepted without paying additional fee. I hope the government officials here understand that they are relying from the foreigner's money for this city's economy. As a foreigner, I'm not asking for 'special' treatment. What I'm asking is that they just be fare and not think of foreigners as their cash cow. Too bad, I have this incident attached to my memory of my trip to Angkor Wat instead of just the beatiful and majestic temples.
