I had stayed in the GIC Hostel while as a student of High School (1954-56). It was slightly away from the Upper Block of College Buildings, a double storey building having three wings/sides at right angle opening towards the hill. There was a mess/kitchen at a distance and sevice toilet still away. The Wardens residence was towards the hill enclosed with walls. There was a ever running tap to meet the water requirement.It was only partially occupied at that time.In my opinion it bore somewhat partially deserted look. Neverthe less good facilty for the students coming from far off places like me. It was fun to go to River Alaknanda and swim at times getting almost drowned only to be saved by the more experienced friends. I am Bakhtawar Singh Rawat of Katakholi,Chalansyun.
