Selkirk Cricket Club, Philiphaugh, Ettrickhaugh Road, Selkirk
Selkirk cricket was formed in 1851, but it was not until 1872 that it settled down in its current home at Philiphaugh. Before this the club played on the haugh now known as Victoria park the club moved to Philiphaugh due to the ever increasing expansion of the textile industry on the Selkirk riversideit was at this point they realised that they needed to move to the other side of the river and were offered the present ground by John Murry of Philiphaugh. the first game played on the new ground was between a Selkirk eleven and Scotlands premier club The Grange. selkirk won the match by 28 runs. It set the pattern for many fine performences on the ground. Selkirk have been border league champions 23 times. The club has had 11 Scottish caps the last of which was I.L. Philip in 1991. There has also been some very talnted overseas players served as Professionals at the club included in this list are Bryn Martin, Steve Jones, Ken Frankish, Richard Straker, Brad Banister, Mark Harper and Dan Peacock to mention but a few. Selkirk has also produced some very high class players Roy Hall who scored over 10000 runs also Dougal Mabon and Tom Brown who each took over 1000 wickets for the club.

Scotland have also played matches on the ground including a 3 day match against Pakistan on the 30th of June till the 2nd of July 1971 a young Imran Khan featured in this match.
