Surak Falls

Surak Falls, that are about 15m in high, are popular because of the water spray looks like sparkling silver.

In the summer, many women come to this place to take a shower under the falls because the falling water is said to have great medicinal effects on neuralgia, muscle pain, and post pregnancy pains.

The falls area is also a great scenic attraction, because the water flows between oddly shaped rocks and pine trees growing in the area. The water level doesn’t drop even in times of drought. A paved road goes right up to the water falls with a parking lot nearby, making visiting easier.

Among Koreans, the Surak Falls are widely known as the ‘Shower Falls’ because local farmers frequently visited the place to ease their backache and arthritis after the hard labor of rice planting and weeding. Today, particularly in the summer, thousands of people come to stand under the fall water after hearing that it’s good for neuralgia, arthritis, muscle pain, and post pregnancy pains. Right under the waterfalls, there is a flat rock wide enough for 10 adults to stand.
