Freedom Junction acts as a hub for several oil pipelines, including Enbridge's Lines 17 and the newly constructed Line 79 which both take oil from Enbridge's 6B interstate pipeline at Stockton, Michigan. The completion of the new 20" pipeline added 80,000 barrels a day capacity to the existing 90,000 barrel a day capacity of Line 17.

At Freedom Junction, the new line connects to a 29 mile long pipeline leased from Wolverine Pipeline, which terminates in Romulus Michigan. At that location it connects with that portion of the Wolverine Pipeline leased by Marathon oil and delivers oil to Marathon's newly expanded Detroit refinery.

Line 17 proceeds south to Samaria, Michigan, north of Toledo where oil is delivered to the BP-Husky Refinery.
