Tonsealama is a small village located in the residence of Minahasa, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Initially this village was belonging to the region of the kecamatan Airmadidi, Minahasa. But currently the village had been changed by the incharge governor of Minahasa at that time to be the region of Tondano, Minahasa.
Desa Tonsealama means the Village of Tonsealama. It has a river that flows from the Lake of Tondano (Danau Tondano) to the Sea of Manado. But Tonsealama is exactly not located near the sea. It is included in upland. The flow of the river is used as one of the source of the electrical power in the region of North Sulawesi (PLTA Tonsealama). So it can be inferred that Tonsealama is the center of Electricity Souce (PLN).
Some of the people work as employee in the Electricity Government Company. The others are farmers due the large forest and the wet rice field (Sawah in Indonesian) in the edge of the village. Some also works as government employee, private employee and entrepreneur. This village has 3 religions in there. Mostly is Protestant which is divided into several groups such as GMIM (Minahasa Evanglisch Church), Pantekosta and Sidang. Next is Catholic. And the rest, with the very small number is Muslim. Most of the Moslems live separately with the other inhabitants. Their houses are located in the border of the village near Village of Kampung Jawa (the Moslem Village of Java) but the people live definitely in peace. The people here are friendly. Visitors are always being welcomed. So, Don’t forget, Tonsealama also has a nice waterfall to be visited, and various kinds of Church building,..
