American Consulate Former US Embassy (1963)
This building is the Consulate of the United States.
used to have a great library...now all that is closed for ppl. The building was designed by a very famous architect Richard J Neutra. At that time it was one of the most modern building in the world. Practically everything was imported from US for the construction.Unfortunately not many buildings built later on could achieve the same building standard.

What A Beautiful Building It Is , Since My Childhood I admired This Building , While Not Knowing Who Really Build This Marvelous Building , But later As I Grew up I came To Know That This Is The American Consulate . Only The Great People Can Build Such Building With The Marvelous Look And I Must Say That All The Credit Goes The Famous Architect Richard J Neutra . Naveed

I used to visit this great institution during my student (childhood) years. Indeed it's library (American Center Library) was THE most popular library in Karachi. The American Center was also a host to many eminent speakers ( I once attended a lecture by a NASA director) and stunning art exhibits. For most students and populace this was their their first exposure to America. And what an exposure it was! The architecture, landscaping and the technology was WAY beyond impressive\! It was here that I first developed my ardent desire to visit and live in the US. Yes, indeed, I have now lived in the US for the last 30 years!
