Nanna Hubba Bluff

Natural bluff formation listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The bluff, which is located on the western bank of the Tombigbee River, was occupied by the Nanibas tribe of Indians as far back as 1000 B.C. During the Civil War, the Confederate Army had shipbuilding operations on the site, and today the bluff is owned by ThyssenKrupp Steel and Stainless, who built a sprawling $4.65 billion plant here in 2007.
