It is a fight towards restoration of India’s dying art in Akashkandil –the traditional Indian Lanterns. Recycle; Reuse is our mantra.
Maiga is a ten year old traditional Indian lantern manufacturing unit located In Nashik, the main administrative and business center of North Maharashtra.
Mostly recycle, renewable and eco friendly material is used to manufacture beautiful lanterns. Ladies who have liking for art and who belong to humble class work as artist at our place, in this way they get regular income all the year round.
We are strictly against chopping of trees and using unnecessary electricity…we use only waste wood, which we get from the scrap box packing suppliers from the nearby industrial zone
two type of lanterns manufacture in various sizes, the toran lanterns and the Traditional Indian: (Cuboctahedron shape)
