Grassy Island Trail

Grassy Island Trail is a beautiful mountain biking, hiking, and horse back riding trail, with trees and a lush canopy, set within what is part of the Taylor Creek, Nubbin Slough Storm Water Treatment Area, located in Okeechobee, FL. There are actually several miles of trails to enjoy there, with many animal and plant species to enjoy and photograph. the trails are fairly well maintained, but can be rough in the wet season, with standing and running water to traverse.
Directions:
Take Hwy 70 into Okeechobee at the intersection of 70 & 441 (there is a CVS and Walgreens at this intersection) turn north onto 441 go about 3 miles north (look for us forrestry fire tower on your right) you will turn left just before tower onto Hilyer road/NW 50thDR travel approximately 2 miles parking corral will be on your right. GPS cordinates are 27.312299,-80.848609.
