In the municipal cemetery, a square gathers about sixty graves of British soldiers of the WW1. In the middle of his companions of " Manchester Regiment " rest the Second Lieutenant Wilfred Owen killed on November 4th, 1918, at the age of 25, by trying to cross with his company the canal of Sambre at the level of the village. Little known in France, Wilfred Owen is in Great Britain one of the biggest of "War Poets", which told through their towards their experience of soldier during the Great War
