  • bevdo ka swarg meaning "paradise for drunks" (for our world viewers) Devka is more in northerly direction on the coast from here. Once Devka had around 25 homes of Parsees/Zoroastrians- lovely small and some large beach side homes and we had lovely times there, vacationing, taking in the fresh sea breeze. Then, some of the property was sold to local fishermen who had made money in fisheries and smuggling and they built hotels on these newly acquired property land which attracted people from accross the border between Daman(a separate territory with liquor allowed) and Gujrat(a State with laws forbidding sale of liquor!!!)So we have a horde of people from accross the border coming here for a quick drink.
