 school, high school

It was June 1966 when Sta. Teresa Barrio High School was opened. It was first located at the old site of the Sta. Teresa Elementary School.
The first principal was Mr. Pedro Alamigo. The members of the faculty and staff were Mr. Dominador Gange, Miss N. Hechanova, Mrs. Clarita Gabasa, Miss E. Gonzales and Miss Elsie Ganancial. There was only one section for each level consisting of 39 students. There were only six teachers who were teaching then.
It was named Sta. Teresa Barrio High School, then Sta. Teresa Barangay High School for it accepted only enrolees from this barangay. It was in 1989 when it became a Newly Nationalized High School.
It started when the Canja family donated a lot of two hectares. Through this piece of land, a new and better site for once a Barangay High School rise.
It was later on named Trinidad V.Canja – Sta. Teresa National High School in honor of the donor.
At present, thousands of students study here from various barangays – San Miguel, Lawi, Buluangan, Sinapsapan, Espinosa, Ravina. We are proud to say that presently the once Barangay High School has contributed so much to the community, country and even the world’s development as a whole. Some of them are Teachers, Seamen, Nurses, Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, etc. Whatever they may be in the near future, the administration has only one vision – to give them a better quality education towards development.
