Village is thousand years old founded by two brothers sh Beg Raj and sh Dhanna Ram Poonia with blessings of Baba Phool Nath.In ancient time village was famous for 9 NALS(Nine Wells).Iniatialy it was named as NAYA GAON(NEW VILLAGE)later on NAWA.Villagers actively participated in freedom movement.H.S.Poonia Retd Distt.Session Judge,B.P.Poonia Retd. ADC and Dr Randeep Singh Poonia Sr ENT Surgeon Cum Chief Medical Officer Bhiwani Haryana belongs to this village.Nawa is HQ of nawa panchayat.Bas Lal singh,Bas kirtan and Gudan are other villages under this panchayat.Upto 1960 Nawa was panchayat HQ of 9 surrounding villages including Chandgothi and Hamirwas.
