Also known as Abdur Rahim Khan e Khana or Khan of Khans, was son of Bairam Khan - a father like figure/guardian and minister to Akbar, he was a minister and a poet famous for 'Rahim ke Dohe'. His mother was from Mewat, Haryana and he was quite liberal in his religious views. He was also step son of Akbar as Akbar has married Rahim's step mother Salima Sulatan Begum after Bairam was got killed by Mewati Chieftain at Patan, Gujarat.

Comments

  • Khan - E - Khana. A monument to one of Akbar's Navratans (Nine Jewels). These 9 individuals including Birbal served as Akbar's advisors, ministers and generals (incidentally the Navratans included several Rajputs - I make this comment to contrast with the prior comment) This monument was stripped of many of its stones which were used to help build Safdarjung's tomb (1754 AD) - located in the Safdarjung area not far from AIIMS and South Extension.
