The Dousman Hotel, now referred to as The Dousman House, is a site significant for being one of the major hotels in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The Dousman Hotel was named after Hercules L. Dousman, an early Wisconsin fur trader and land speculator, who became the state's first millionaire.
The hotel prospered until 1908, then fell into odd uses and was nearly demolished several time. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1960. It was restored into an event center.
