Tapton House was the home of the Shore family, including Mary Shore, great aunt of Florence Nightingale. In 1965 the Sheffield Masonic Hall Company had acquired the house, to-day the hall can be hired for various function. There is a fine restaurant on site.
The building is a Grade II listed building.
