house, ruins, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places
Historic ruins of a 17th century house that burned down in a 1905 fire. The house lent its name to the nearby Battle of Malvern Hill in the American Civil War. The only remains of the house are an end wall and chimney, but the site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by virtue of the fine brickwork evident in its remains, and of the house as a whole as evidenced by existing photographs that predate the fire.
