Orava railway station is a railway station on the Tartu–Koidula railway line in the village of Rõssa, Võru municipality, Võru County (named after the nearby village of Orava). Passenger trains run from Orava to Koidula station. Among these stops was the Kliima stop. On 30 August 2011, passenger train traffic in Orava ceased. Orava station had one low platform of 89 m in length, which was demolished in 2012 and replaced with a new short waiting platform (35 m), due to which trains can only be entered and exited through zone C. In addition to the main road, the station has four side tracks and one dead-end for loading goods – a total of nine turns. The railway station is located 262 km from Balti Jaam and 73 km from Tartu. Depending on the day of the week and the season, there are 1 to 4 passenger trains per day on the Tartu–Koidula railway line. The train journey from Tartu to Orava takes approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes. The station was opened in 1931 in connection with the construction of the Tartu–Petseri railway line. After its opening, the station remained part of the Orava municipality. The original station building was built according to the model of the main building of the Kirbla railway station; the building was destroyed during World War II. In 1960, the construction of a new stone station building in the Stalinist style was completed, built according to a standard design similar to the Abja and Kin stations built in Estonia during the same period.
