The main building of Antsla station was completed in 1889. The building, in the Crown Historicist style, is classified as Class V in the Russian Empire system and was built according to a standard project similar to the buildings of Karula, Puka, Petseri and other stations. They are characterized by a simple symmetrical side facade and a low-pitched, wide-eaves half-gable roof, and a noticeable central pediment, which was located next to the waiting room. Since the early 2000s, the station building has been unused and in poor condition. In 2004, the building was sold to private ownership.[6] During a recent facade renovation, all of the original planking was removed and replaced with simple horizontal planking.[7][8]
