This watch hut is of the "Zuid-Hollandse Landschap" has been made possible by a chemical factory in Europoort. From the hide, you have, at a height of over 60 meters, a beautiful view of the Hinderplaat the Westplaat (eastbound), and dunes of Westvoorne across the water.

When the sand plates are dry, chances are that there are seals, sometimes dozens. A good viewer or camera with lots of zoom is needed, as well as good weather.

Next to the very small car park is a memorial placed for the helicopter crash on 27 June 2010. A helicopter with pilot, 3 photographers and an employee of the Port Authority, who followed a cycling race, suddenly got in trouble and crashed. There were 4 dead and one seriously injured.
