Hot Lake Resort

Once the happening healing place of the 1920s, Hot Lake Resort had fallen into disuse and disrepair by the mid-1990s, despite many attempts at site improvement. The impressive old building and its unique hot spring site is currently being restored by artist David Manuel, formerly of the Wallowa County community of Joseph.

  • The placement and description are correct, but (splitting hairs) the resort has been in a state of disuse and disrepair since long before the mid nineties. My earliest recollection of the Hot Lake resort is from the seventies, and it had been out of commission for years, if not decades prior to that time.
