John Tupper and Lawrence Reed constructed this building for their music store, which they had established in Berkeley in 1906. The building, designed by renowned architect William Raymond Yelland, is a good example of the so-called "storybook" style of architecture, a romantic and rustic design meant to feel "olde world".
