Un-Treated, Non-GMO Seeds

Great produce starts with great seeds. We grow from seeds that are chemically un-treated and 100% GMO free, obtained from quality sources such as Johnny’s Selected Seeds.

American-Insectaries Pest Control

Sprays of any kind are not used at J R Organics. We believe that even organically sanctioned sprays may be harmful. Instead we rely on beneficial insects from American Insectories, good soil management, regular feedings with Agrowinn organic fertilizers and a balanced ecosystem.

Since 1955, the Rodriguez family has owned this 100 ranch. Begun as a conventionally grown vegetable farm the transition to CCOF farming occurred in 1986. The J.R. Organic Community Sponsored Agriculture Farm services about a radius of 100 to 150 miles and transports fresh veggies, fruit, flowers and strawberries to Farmer's Markets around San Diego County and Orange County. Going on to sixty years of farming excellence, the family continues to make an astounding contribution to the well-being of hundreds of individual sponsors.

Don’t Be Fooled By Fake CSAs!

2 csa boxes With the recent success of family farms and CSA programs, many “CSA like” box delivery services have sprung up overnight and are sometimes known as fake CSAs. Fake CSAs are not necessarily local farms. Their websites make many claims but it is nearly impossible to discern if they are true or not.

Be Wary!

Do you know the difference between naturally grown and organic? Many times the term “naturally grown” is used to misrepresent food as being chemically free, but this is not the case. Sometimes a farm will advertise “no pesticides” or “pesticide free”, but I am not aware of one regulatory agency that monitors these claims. Additionally, there are many other harmful chemicals used in conventional agriculture besides pesticides. Only certified organic can assure you that the item was indeed grown without any harmful chemicals. There is a lot of misleading hype out there so be wary!
