It originated in 1898 when the building was demolished former candle factory which occupied a good part. The fence that enclosed the garden was removed in 1936 during the war in Ethiopia; was also removed the well-head positioned in the center of the garden, to bring it back in the cloister of the Convent of San Paterniano, where it was originally. In its place (2009) has placed the well-head which originally stood in the cloister of Santa Maria Nuova.
In the garden you will find the broken trunk of an old rate, ruined by a storm around 1990.
