Former Church and Convent of San Francesco di Paola (Fano)

The building from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century . was used as a convent of the " Friars Minor " sayings of San Francesco di Paola .
The building underwent a radical restructuring and a partial reconstruction from 1927 to 1932 to house the police station. Next to the convent which stood the church until the end of the sixteenth century it was under the title of " Holy Spirit."
Hit by aerial bombs during World War II has been partially ruderizzata .
Her beautiful Istrian stone portal ( late seventeenth century ) was removed and placed in the new church of the Three Bridges where he moved the cult of Our Lady of the Pillar whose shrine was demolished for the military in 1940.
The old complex of San Francesco di Paola is the bell tower of one of the few not killed by the Germans in August 1944 . Fano It seems attributable to the architect Prospero Selvelli ( 1773-1847 ) for its resemblance to that of the aforementioned church of Our Lady of column.
Currently (2009) the Church is restored for residential and commercial uses .
