Lincoln Castle is a major castle constructed in Lincoln, England during the late 11th century by William the Conqueror on the site of a pre-existing Roman fortress. Lincoln Cathedral's copy of one of the very few remaining copies of Magna Carta is nominally kept here but it is sometimes lent to other organisations - check whether is it actually there before making a special visit.
