PROPOSED MODIFICATION OF
Quality Control.
General.
1. AL-SHAYAE shall submit a schedule of material \ equipment submittals for the entire project not later than two weeks after the commencement of the subcontract.
2. AL-SHAYAE shall submit a detailed work schedule for the entire project for the approval of K.K.M.C prior to start of project .it shall be updated on a monthly basis beside the weekly schedule.
3. AL-SHAYAE shall submit necessary prequalification documents for all their sub-contractors and shall be subject for review and qualification of K.K.M.C prior commencement of any work .
4. All man power shall be skilled and read English for better communication , and understanding of the inspection report that he has to sign .
5. AL-SHAYAE shall provide a list of all electrical and mechanical items including make and model numbers a copy of the manufacture's or vendor's guarantee documents which extends beyond the warranty of construction period stating the date which the sub-contractor's guarantee is in effect and the name of authorized representative of all subcontractors with manufactures specifically designated in writing by the prime sub-contractor for direct contact.
6. within fifteen (15) calendar days after the date of the sub-contract, AL-SHAYAE shall deliver to K.K.M.C a bank letter of guaranty for the performance of the work in the amount of five (5%) of the subcontract price. the bank letter of guaranty shall state that it will for the purposes of warranty implementation , continue in effect for one (1) year after the date the last work under the subcontract is accepted by K.K.M.C.
7. The letter of guaranty shall also stat the bank agrees and consents that the subcontract may be modified by change order or supplemental agreement without affecting the validity of the letter of guaranty
8. The site (external and internal) shall be cleaned regularly during the construction period from construction debris as part of a daily routine and shall be thoroughly cleaned prior to turn-over to K.K.M.C engineers.
9. AL-SHAYAE shall provide a permanent security officer or guard at the main entrance gate
10. AL-SHAYAE employees must be sponsored under his company and shall be fully responsible of their performance
11. AL-SHAYAE shall provide a complete set of drawings (Master plan for all utilities ) with the sewer and electrical lines to avoid interference with the existing utilities
12. AL-SHAYAE shall check all existing utilities prior to any demolition works
Civil.
1. Concrete shall not be placed on mud or un-compacted fill (minimum 95% compactions)
2. Cement shall be Portland cement and shall meet the requirements of ASTM specification C 150. AH concrete in contact with soil shall have high sulfate resistance Type V Portland cement and shall be coated with 2 coats of bitumen paint.
3. Water shall be potable, clean, and free from injurious amounts of oils, acids, alkalis, organic materials, or other substances that may be deleterious to concrete or steel.
4. Discharge concrete from a truck within 1-1/2 hours from the time concrete mix poured into the concrete truck.
5. The expansion joint filler material shall have the following properties: high density, low water absorption, high compressive strength and shall be none-extruding.
6. sealant shall prevent the penetration of liquid and moisture into the join, direct.
7. The sub-grade shall be prepared before placing the sup-base and asphalt layers.
8. It shall be verified that it is a suitable material, and if not, it shall be removed and replaced by suitable fill material. The sub-base shall be watered, leveled and compacted to a minimum of 95% relative compaction.
9. Sub-grade shall be free of sawdust, debris, water, extraneous oil, mortar, or any other substances that may be deleterious to the concrete.
10. All excavated materials, unless proven suitable materials should be removed from the site and shall not be used as backfilling materials.
11. The bituminous mixture shall be spread and finished true to crown and grade by the automatically controlled bituminous pavers.
12. The automatically controlled pavers shall spread the bituminous mixtures without tearing the surface and shall strike a finish that is smooth, transverse corrugations and other irregularities.
13. The finished asphalt layer not have a surface tolerance of more than a 4mm when tested by 4m straight edge.
14. All bituminous mixtures shall be delivered to the pavers at a temperature from 139 to 163o c. Mixtures delivered to paver at lower temperature shall be discarded. Loads that have, crusts of cold, unworkable materials will be rejected.
15. Testing shall be made for sub-base and asphalt materials as required by K.K.M.C.
16. Soaked CBR test and moisture content test shall be made for sub-base and asphalt materials as required by K.K.M.C..
17. Field density test shall be made for sub-base and asphalt materials as required by K.K.M.C. .
18. Field –in place density shall be determined in accordance with ASTM D1556.
19. Core test shall be made as required by K.K.M.C.
20. The core tests shall be from the compacted bitumen base course.
21. The Marshall method shall be used to analyze the samples.
22. For other than what is mentioned in these specifications, the ministry of transportation specifications regarding earthwork and asphalt pavement shall be applied.
23. Three (3) samples all meeting drawings and specifications requirements to be provided for all materials or equipment submittals.
24. Water proofing and thermal insulation works:
Water proofing and thermal insulation works shall be carried out according to the following items in addition to the instructions of the approved manufacturing company by K.K.M.C.
Work shall be extended by waterproofing specialized company and shall provide 10 year warrantee for all waterproofing work.
All preparative works such as hole filling, juts/bulges removal, surface smoothing, cleaning, supply of ancillary materials of primer coating, or accessories and materials, manpower, equipment, transport services, required testing.
Measurements shall be in square meter for horizontal projections without any additional cost for slopes or skirting for insulation layers.
All areas around roof drains and skirting of AC compressors on roof shall be included in water proofing application.
Painting works:
General: All surfaces shall be painted as shown on the drawings and according to the manufacturing company instructions. Work shall include removal of old paint and repair of all cracks with approved methods prior to new paint. Complete paint application shall be implemented to edges and corners. All surfaces shall be painted with primer coat as required in drawings in the manner acceptable.
Surface to be painted shall be prepared, inspected and treated.
Price includes: all materials Sigma brand or equivalent, accessories items, labor, equipment, scaffolding, transport means, material handling, cleaning, and protecting adjacent surface. Measurement shall be by square meter and the openings shall not be counted.
25. Restoration for utility, all excavations for utilities shall be restored to its original conditions.
Landscaping works
Existing Sub-grade will be checked if it suitable or not (replaced by suitable material if needed) and remove old paving.
All necessary works (cut and fill, leveling)will be made before asphalt paving.
Sub-grade will be watered leveled and compacted before sub-base laid with 95% compaction.
The 5cm thick bitumen base course will be spread over the sub-base using automatically controlled pavers.
Walkway.
Installing and alignment curbstone of 20x30x50cm over 10cm thick plain concrete.
15x15cm triangular shape plain concrete backing to curbstone.
10cm thick by 1.5m width side walkway will be constructed.
8mm mesh by 200mm x 200mm reinforcement at center of the depth.
Carry out Expansion joint with 18mm wide by fiber filler board.
Put Backing rod and suitable sealant used.
Gravelling
Existing Sub-grade will be checked if it suitable or not (replaced by suitable material if needed).
All necessary works (cut and fill, leveling)will be made before asphalt paving.
20cm thick Sub-grade will be watered leveled and compacted before sub-base laid with 97% compaction.
The 7cm thick layer of approximately 3/4 inch dia gravel on graded and compacted sub-base.
Mechanical.
1. Materials and equipment shall be the standard products of a manufacturer regularly engaged in the manufacture of such products and have been in satisfactory use for at least five years prior bid opening. The ventilators shall be totally noise- free and shall be acceptable to the K.K.M.C engineers.
2. Aluminum louvers shall be non-electrical type and shall operate with wind movement.
3. Turbine ventilators shall rotate with its highly efficient ball bearing system.
4. The bearing system shall enable the system to rotate at wind velocity off less than 2 miles per hour.
5. The ball bearing shall be sealed and permanently lubricated and is made to last infinitely.
6. Turbine ventilators shall be made of all aluminums or galvanized steel rust free construction and shall be applied with silicone sealant upon installation to prevent water leakage. It shall be mounted with stability to withstand against strong winds.
7. Louvers blade shall be fabricated from galvanized steel sheets and shall be provided with frame of galvanized steel or aluminum structural shapes.
8. Sheet metal thickness and fabrication shall conform to SMACNA low-pressure duct construction standards.
9. Blades shall be accurately fitted and secured to frames.
10. Edges of louvers blades shall be folded or beaded for rigidity and baffled to exclude driving rain. Louvers shall be provided with insect screen where indicated.
11. Sand trap louvers shall be design to separate and sand laden air from the main air stream through sand chute holes at the base of louvers.
12. Sand trap louvers shall permit passage of air at velocity of 2 meter per second without blade vibration or noise.
13. Sand trap louvers shall be provided with insect screen.
14. Pipe ducts penetrating concrete canopy shall be sealed with silicon sealant to insure leak free installation.
Telephone system
1. All Telephone cable laying shall be made within a designated trench and inside plastic conduits(PVC class 4).
2. Supply and install all DP and cables as per specifications and project requirements.
3. Inspection of all interior and exterior telephone network lines and ensure its good working.
4. Supply, install, remounting and inspection all DP as per the contract items.
5. All work in accordance to project's drawing and by specialized sub-contractor.
ELECTRICAL.
1. AL-SHAYAE shall furnish complete design, work and materials with shop drawings of the entire wiring systems for interior and exterior lights and floodlights to include the panel board load schedules prior to any work for approval.
2. All conduits to be used for general wiring are rigid steel conduits of 1/2" diameter Minimum size.
3. All joints to the junction box shall be cut square, reamed smooth and draw up tight and shall be secured with box connectors.
4. All bends shall be free of dents or flattening and shall not be more than three quarter bends.
5. All utility and junction boxes shall be metal and sizes shall be determined as per actual wiring requirements such as standard junction and utility boxes.
6. All electrical equipment, devices light fixtures shall be new and shall be subject for the approval of the project engineers prior installation.
7. All new under ground power cables from exterior MDP to the interior panel boards shall be CU/STA/PVC/XLPE, 0.6/1KV and shall be protected with cable tiles protector and warning tapes.
